SMR Creative was founded in the winter of 2005 by Sarah Rana and after much research and planning she took the big step and decided to 'go public' with her art in the spring of 2006. Response was immediately overwhelming. Starting from a small studio at home in West London with just a few paintings, SMR Creative grew into a business which turns over plenty of pieces to keep Sarah creating fresh, innovative and exciting works of art!Inspired by the works of Alberto Giacometti, Monet, Turner and influenced by Japanese manga, Sarah Rana is a talented visual artist who lives and works in West London, United Kingdom. Born in London and educated in London Schools of Art & Design, at a young age she studied life drawing and concentrated on figurative illustration. Although painting was always her first passion Sarah worked for many years with sculpture and photography. In her twenties and after her education, Sarah chose a career path to develop her commercial awareness within the corporate industry where she worked designing and developing packaging and corporate identity projects. Now in her thirties and after giving birth to her daughter, she works from her home studio and has returned to her first love of painting on canvas and has never looked back.Sarah's work is modern, abstract and contemporary in style, using a range of mixed media to achieve rich textures and vibrant colours. Sarah's paintings are original and unique. They explore the relationships between texture and light, are created with and empowered by emotion, they experiment with colour and depth and reach to stimulate the viewers senses. Each artwork is one of a kind and virtually impossible to reproduce.
