Over the last ten years I have consistently been developing my portfolio and professional skills in the mediums of paint (acrylic, oil and ink & gouache, watercolours) print , mixed media collages and glass (stained lead panels and hot glass). Through my work as an art therapist and fine art teacher I have also explored the use of found objects and mixed media to create outsider art .
I have undertaken a number of commissions in all of the above mediums and am now keen to continue my development as a professional artist.

My paintings tend to capture emotions; energy; time or experience. I try to visually recreate the essence of emotions and experiences which are eternal.
In my psychic energy abstract landscapes I paint the experience of energy in the environment around us. The energy created by man, pollution and time. While the psychic landscapes are entirely organic in form and content. They reflect a coexistence and interdependence of past present and future forms.
I also attempt a subtle exploration of the current and future political and environmental concerns through my urban energy landscapes.

Throughout the last ten years I have also explored a number of diverse printing techniques as a result I now combine a number of styles to create these limited edition prints.
The first step of this process is to carve or etch out the design or pattern onto a print block, then in a similar style used in monotype printing I paint the print block in three stages to create one print. Therefore, whilst the rigid structure of the print remains constant between the two prints, the emotional and visual structure of the painting varies as a result of the three stage painting and printing technique. Although the process is time consuming (taking over three hours to complete each print stage) the results are individual bespoke artworks which cannot be replicated as found with most other single layer printing techniques.
STAiNED GLASS & HOT GLASS WORK: Through the medium of stained glass and hot glass I am able to continue developing and exploring creative ideas I have already developed in paint and print by manipulation of colour light and line works in my glass artworks. Some of my hot glass artworks are created over a number of firings in a truly organic manner using wire various coloured fusing glasses and stains. Conversely when creating stained glass leaded panels the creative process ends at the design and glass selection stage and requires a strict observation of the designed plan.
It is wonderful to see my creative ideas come to fruition in a number of different mediums, this allows a consistency between artworks and allows a diverse exploration of the artworks and a number of artist techniques and styles, which is inspirational and exciting for me as an artist.
Thankyou for tanking the time to read this brief introduction to my work and styles I hope that it has been informative and inspired you in some way. I look forward to receiving any comments you may have and warmly welcome commissions in any medium form or style.
With warm wishes
