Although I started my creative life taking photographs and printing black and white photos, I felt the entire process took too long and lacked immediacy.

That is when my affinity for painting with acrylics took shape. It allowed an immediacy and spontaneity that really suited me. I initially used a variety of means to apply paint to the canvas, sponges, found items, and sometimes even brushes.

However, I soon discovered that I had a particular affinity to "pouring paint" in the spirit of Jackson Pollock. "Pouring paint" allows for a wonderful, natural paint flow. The canvas can also be manipulated to influence the paint flow and/or intermingling of the paint. This method allows one to focus on the paint colour, texture, movement/flow and it is (for me) the least adulterated method of applying paint. The pieces created in this manner are dramatic and unique.


My love for photography was rekindled with the acquisition of a digital SLR. My photographs are digitally enhanced and/or manipulated to give them an "abstract feel" I like to descibe them with the slogan...photography, seeing outside the box... These photographs are coming soon!
