Artwork Selection - See all my art

Artists Statement

During a long stay in England in 2004, more out of circumstances than choice, (This turned out to be my longest stay since 1979 there) I bought myself a set of Daler Rowney - easel, oil paints, brushes and a few Winsor & Newton canvasses from CASS Art on the Charing Cross Road, near the Trafalgar Square....what resulted from that impulse buying is a compilation of a series of paintings...here are some of my best reviewed works....

I discovered that I could express my personal feelings, thoughts, memories… and I followed my intuition with each stroke of my brush….to arrive at a satisfying medium and a collection of paintings….

I did fashion sketches as a part of my job…

This was a real thrilling new re-discovery about myself...I’d stopped painting a long time back…

Allowing my inner-most feelings and memories to surface, I painted those in abstract lines and my first collection was thus named “The Lines” shown at the Slough Library in UK, and then came The lines of five elements (“Panch-tatva-ki-Lakirein”) shown at my studio in Delhi…..Then came “The Guests Series…”

I have painted most of my work between September 7th, 2004 until now into March, 2008, while working on these between UK and India.

1. My last exhibition was in November 2007 at my studio in Delhi.

2. My previous exhitions have been, The Slough Library, UK, November 1 - 30, 2004.

3. The Windsor Library, UK, November 7-14, 2004.

4. The Oriental Rug Gallery, Trinity Yard,St.Leonard's Road, Windsor, December 1-25, 2004.

5. Visual Art London, has 7 of my paintings since October 2, 2004 (Status unknown).

6. 9 of my works are in private collections in England.

7. At present I have my works in my studio and I continue to work on these…some of my work is here…

I'm extremely thankful to

The Library of Slough, UK, especially to Fred, Phil and Mandy there, who worked hard and made my exhibition possible in a matter of minutes and helped me to install my works and looked after my paintings during the exhibition between November 1 st to 30th 2004.

The Library of Windsor, UK, for the same help and the cooperation I received.

The Directors of Oriental Gallery, Trinity Yard, St. Leonard's Rd. Windsor, UK.

The Hindustan Times, The Times of India and the MetroNow, the three leading Delhi newspapres

Dr. R.S. Bola of 46, Amberley Road, Slough, UK who made his house and the attic studio available to me without any gain.

Thank you

Hi Sangeeta, thank you indeed for your appreciation...oil-on-canvas is my favourite medium. Recently I have experimented with enamel paint on bakelite board. You'll find more of my work on redbubble.com...take care
