Carlos Ygoa (b. 1963).
Realist painter and professional since 1980. Has specialized in sacred art and religious painting, creating original compositions for altarpieces in churches and chapels worldwide. His body of non-religious, figurative work consists of still lifes, portraits, landscapes, and figure painting, many of which also reside in private collections in Spain as well as the U.S. and Asia. An accredited copyist in the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid, he has made exquisite studies of old master classics of this museum.
The study of western European old masters has been at the core of his formation as an artist, and he has always derived inspiration especially from Spanish and Italian Renaisance and Baroque painters, as well as 19th century artists and the realists of the 20th century.
He lives and works in Madrid, Spain.
He is represented by Sammer Gallery in Marbella, Malaga.
