Josie Chen holds both a double bachelor’s degree in fine arts and textile design, and a master’s degree in textile design, from Otemae University, home to many of Japans top textile designers. Joanne’s career in fashion spans the past decade and has included positions as fashion designer, jewellery deisgner and stylist for such diverse clients as Louis Vuitton and Chrome Hearts . Joanne has lectured on fashion and jewellery , and more recently working as a senior designer/ product developer for a main line retailer.
The connection today between clothes and accessories is at its highest point of any other period of dress history, designing collections include designing costume jewellery and accessories to compliment each other. In my range of costume jewellery pieces im trying to explore the connection through art to link jewellery pieces to garments.
