Suffering from multiple sclerosis for the past 28 years has left Vermont artist Leslie McCool plenty of time in front of the canvas. Although she experiences days when lifting the brush is akin to a cinder block, her high spirited demeanor provides the strength to keep painting and drawing. For McCool, art is truly the best medicine.
McCool believes that her disability is a gift, enabling her to tap into an inner spirit. One need only think of Beethoven and how his great gift was his deafness, permitting him to produce imaginative and remarkable music. She would never consider herself in the ranks of a Beethoven, but her work speaks for itself.
Before being diagnosed, McCool worked as a commercial artist for ad agencies and television. She has painted for 50 years and has paintings in private collections from California to Moscow. Hoping her work will someday hang in Swaziland, France or India, she has decided to grace the internet with her art.
All correspondence; sales, site questions and updates are handled and transcribed by her agent.
