Description

Brood 1-3 is a work in progress. A comment on fertility, birth and loss, a new crib is being made each year. Materials used are latex gloves, plastic tubing, aluminium rod and fishing wire. Tensions are present between the sterile and tactile, intrusion and protection, and comfort and pain. Started in 2002, Brood 1 has deteriorated, conveying the fragility and vulnerability of the work. The three cribs sit side by side, invisibly suspended from the ceiling.
