Paintings in Hospitals Fourth Annual Summer Exhibition
‘In Search of Beauty and Wellbeing’

This exhibition centres on the role that art plays in a person’s emotional and physical wellbeing. Supported by a programme of artist’s talks, the exhibition will highlight the necessity for art as a means of communication, expression, and release, as well as its importance to one’s general wellbeing and happiness.
A specially curated exhibition of works from Paintings in Hospitals’ collection presents the evidence, arguments and processes for having art in healthcare facilities. A few issues to be addressed include how art and having access to art can speed up a patient’s recovery, reduce drug consumption, act as a distraction, enable communication and act as a vehicle for therapy.
