Description

The Variationen I fountain pen, combines form and functionality with rare and precious woods to make a truely unique beautiful writing instruments.

I use figured wood or strongly coloured wood in each creation due to its beauty and or interesting irregularities. I may spend many hours of work on each pen so as to ensure the finest quality of finish is achieved and that each pen and every pencil is unique and has its own individual characteristics.

This pen is made from Kingwood or Bois de Violette and it comes from North Eastern Brazil, Ceara and Southern Bahia. It is one of the very precious woods in the timber trade. Trees only develop small stems with a maximum of 20 cm diameter. The colour is violet brown to purple with fine black veining and usually straight grained

Each piece of wood is turned on a hand lathe before being meticulously finished by hand.
