This is the Nine Ladies Stone circle on Stanton Moor in Derbyshire, which I painted whilst camping over night July 2006. I made friends with some teenagers in the night time, but they got freaked out by some of the crusties from the quarry protest site at the bottom of the hill. The protesters were the reason why I found out about here in the first place. Their fight to preserve the area goes on.
