Description

This is an installation piece that I built on the stairwell of the studios. I am trying to interrupt the space and alter our experience of it. Using white fabric I have blocked off part of the space that we pass as we go up the stairs. The fabric encloses part of the space giving it a heaviness and presence. It makes the viewer more aware of this void above their heads but still remains only as a gentle presence and fairly inconspicuous. I was thinking about how I could blank out part of a space concealing what we might see, and letting the viewer fill in what is missing.
