Description

"Kimono Peony" is one of a selection of artworks inspired by my love of the Japanese kimono and flowers. This piece looks at the patterns used in Japanese kimonos capturing there striking beauty, and combines this with a delicate peony. A flower typically used in Japanese art. The background pattern was painted with the use of colorful inks. The peony and vases where then collaged on top, creating a sense of depth. The artwork is very bold, but the soft color palette of pale greens and pinks and the delicately painted peony, make it perfect for hanging on any wall.
