Description

"Japanese Chrysanthemums" is one of a selection of artworks inspired by my love of flowers and the Japanese kimono. The piece was created using mixed media. The chrysanthemums were painted with the use of a pipette and ink. The tecnique allows me to create the delicate nature of the peony on paper. These flowers are then inter cut onto a heavily patterned ground. The ground looks at a selection of Japanese patterns, used in kimonos. These patterns were created with purple, mauve and gold papers collaged together.
