Description

"Mauve Chrysanthemums" is one of a selection of artworks inspired by my love of the Japanese paintings and my love of flowers. This piece looks at 2 chrysanthemums, a flower traditionally used in Japanese art. The 2 mauve flowers are painted in a very loose style, which is full of movement, similar to Japanese brush art. The panel down the side looks at Japanese writing but uses it as a visual form the prettiness of the swirling script emphasising the delicate nature of the chrysanthemums.
