Description
"Oriental Poppies" is one of a collection of artworks inspired by my love of flowers. The piece is a mixture of watercolors and gold acrylic (the gold catches the light beautifully) collaged together. My love of the Japanese kimono and its pattern can also be seen in the pieces patterned ground. I wanted the piece to reflect the exotic nature of the poppy; this is achieved with the use of pattern and the rich colour palette of golden yellows, gold's and reds. The piece measures 25.5 x 18 inches and is a selection of papers inter cut together.
