My unique selling point is that I only ever use eight solid colours in my paintings although I often pick out small interesting details in primary colours.
As I paint from photographic images my subject matter is limitless but most of my inspiration is drawn from street life and my great love of architecture and social history and the contrast between old and new buildings in cities like Birmingham, both of which are included in my cityscape paintings. I want my paintings, like photographs, to record the social history of our time.
I am one of the fastest selling artists in the Artlounge in the Mailbox, Birmingham City Centre where my New York cityscapes are much in demand. I also sell Birmingham city scene paintings through the Temple Gallery in the Great Western Arcade in Birmingham city centre, UK.
I paint with acrylics carrying images around the sides of the deep stretched canvas frames and finish with four layers of protective varnish.
My background is in the leisure and music industry, working for many years as a Freelance Corporate Interior Designer/Maker, designing and making name & logo banners, hand-painted U.V. backdrops and mobiles and general nightclub decor
